I care! I only get to see the odd game here, but love watching it when I get the chance.

It's gonna to happen eventually. It had to happen with WEC, with all those great fighters not getting the recognition the deserved due to their preferred weight class not existing in the UFC. But is it possible for a promotion to have TOO MANY fighters? Surely if they had a huge number of great fighters, they'd either have to wait for really long periods before their next fight, or make up for it by having more fights each event.

...Actually, that would be awesome. We're already at a stage where the co-main event, and even the co-co-main event sometimes, are as exciting as headliners from just a couple of years back. Imagine the full main card being virtually all headline worthy fights... :P

I can't imagine it being too far away either. Who on earth would be content with delaying bringing Fedor into the UFC? lol

Cool. Are you just a fan of the sport in general, or do you like to root for any one in particular whenever you get to see a game?

The more shows the merrier is how I see it! The quality has been largely very good for the past year... One or two seriously shitty cards (Marquardt - Okami, Mir - Cro-Cop, etc.) but plenty of great stuff too. I doubt they'd keep all the fighters on the StrikeForce roster though. With the WEC gone into the UFC they probably will just have way too many people on the roster. They probably have a big enough roster to be doing two shows a month as it is.

I still wonder about Fedor as well. He just does not seem to want to fight in the UFC. I'd say if a merger happens he'll probably just go elsewhere.

Must suck to be Paul Daley as well. StrikeForce was his outlet after Dana basically banned him from ever fighting in the UFC again after what he did to Koscheck, so if they do merge he's probably totally fucked!

As requested, Motogp babble.

Yesterday's race was pretty interesting in discovering where everybody stands, more or less. The Qatar track isn't very representative for each manufacturer's performance so next round in Jerez will really show how competitive everyone is. Yamaha has never really fared well at Qatar (apart from last year when Stoner crashed out while having a 2-mile lead), so Spies should be right up there fighting for podiums in the next races. Also impressive was Simoncelli, I think I'll enjoy watching him race throughout the season. Barbera seriously disappointed to finish nearly last while being the best Ducati in practice and qualifying. Rossi fighting for 6th was more than I expected, I'm hoping he can fight for podiums as the season progresses.

This year will probably be Lorenzo vs Stoner. I've never thought Pedrosa to be champion-material and after this race he was already whining about pain in his arm or something. Fragile boy. My guess: Stoner, since he's already lightning fast while being on that Honda for only a few months.

Also, can't wait for Formula 1 to start next weekend. :)

Dunno what was up with Pedrosa... He looked absolutely shattered when they showed him in parc fermé after the race. I'm hoping it'll be Stoner's year this year. He looks damn good on that Honda and I have an irrational hatred of Lorenzo to boot. :P Although I won't be complaining if Spies and Simoncelli or even Dovi can get themselves up there contending for podium place finishes. I'll be very surprised if Rossi gets anywhere near top five this year because that Ducati is gonna take ages to sort out and his shoulder sounds like it's totally fucked. If he has a crash on it this season that might be curtains for the career, I think.

Moto2 is looking like a lot less of a totally mad scramble this year. People who were there last year and remained there for this season (Toni Elias - why the hell did you move up!?) seem to really know how to get the things going good and proper this time around. I'd say the first race was very representative of who's gonna be up there this season; Bradl, Luthi, Iannone will probably be the top three by the years end. I had Iannone to win it this year before everything kicked off and I'll stick by that prediction... Hopefully we'll see more utter madness from Jules Cluzel and the others as well though. That class was by far and away the best last year.

The 125s this year will be fairly unexciting, I'd say. With Smith, Márquez, Espargaró, etc all gone up to Moto2 I think Terol is gonna absolutely walk it for pretty much every race.. Might end up being very boring very quickly.

I'm a bit of a fan of most sport, to be honest!

But I played a bit of baseball a few years ago (there are quite a lot of cricketers down here that also play baseball). I don't know if you would call me a fully fledged "fan" of any one team, but if anything it would be the Red Sox. There are a few parallels with my Aussie Rules Football team Collingwood, and for some reason I really enjoy watching Papelbon pitch. Really enjoyed watching the Giants last year too, what with all the awesome beards and whatnot.

Because you're international, the Red Sox will be allowed to you :P. As long as you didn't say the Dodgers or the Yankees, you're A-OK in my book.

Giants fan, obviously, as I grew up around San Francisco. Last year was awesome.

Yeah I thought you might be a Giants fan. Collingwood were champs here in the AFL so I too had a very enjoyable sporting year!

Zero chance of me being a bloody Yankees fan. Ugh. That said, I have been to just one MLB game and it was the Yankees vs Seattle in 2009. Only because it was the one game we could see and I had to see a Major League game once in my lifetime! Who's looking good this year?

Sorry for the double post, but I had to mention ROLLER DERBY!!!!

My wife is a derby girl in the Canberra Roller Derby League: http://canberrarollerderbyleague.com/

It's a freaking brilliant sport. Fast, violent, skillful, lots of tactics. Great music, cool people, and girls in fishnets and booty shorts on quad skates being generally awesome. If you get a chance to go to a bout, get yourself a beer and a spot in the suicide seating and have a blast.

Cool, glad you got to see a a game. Was it in Seattle or New York? I'm almost a bigger fan of the stadiums than the teams themselves!

Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Atlanta, Minnesota. There are other good teams, but they'd all have to have a hell of a lot more go right.

FOOTBALL! (or... "Soccer"...)

Any fans? Any particular team(s) that you support?

I'm a Tottenham fan. We're having an immense season. It's all very exciting. We we we so excited.

Nhl hockey anyone?
It's that time of year, every game is so important, and the lineups are depleted, players play injured, and well it's a great spectacle!

I'll just say that I'm proud of my Montreal Canadiens who have managed to remain competitive despite having so many injured players, and relying on so many rookies.
