no matter how often I've watched that movie, I still think it's awesome and love it. Still hoping for a Blu-Ray release without any missing footage and without any cropping of the picture.

best TV show evaaarrr....to me anyways. Why on earth was it cancelled? It's funny, the stories are great, the characters are great and after watching an episode you feel good. The 4th season ends with a cliffhanger and then the show was cancelled, meh. And Earl never got to finish his list. Meh.

Earl was pretty good, and I too was disapointed to see it end like that. May I recommend Trailer PArk Boys, if you want another trailer park show? It's not the same vibe at all, and more crass, but it is still pretty funny. The documentary style in which they shoot is interesting as well.

Yessss, this show rocks I'm a hardcore cult fanboy of the boys actually got to meet Lahey and Randy at a show got to slap Randy's gut for good luck hahaha

Such is American television. I'm not the hugest fan of Earl, but it's tragic when stories aren't allowed to complete.

Likewise Party Down. One of the best US comedies I have seen in YEARS and it lasted just two seasons! Highly, highly recommended. Whereas horrid shows like Friends run for an eternity.

There's such great moments of brilliance when there's honest interaction between the characters.

I loved TPB aswell, the characters are priceless and most of the situations are pure insanity. So vulgar its brilliant one could say!

I actually wanted to ask Devin about his opinion on TPB as a canadian citizen, but i forgot. Maybe next time!

pretty darn entertaining as usual. Pretty goofy (zombies are able to talk...they can even say 'brains' without having lips, heh) but very enjoyable and of course not as serious as Romero's Dead movies. And the DVD didn't look as bad on the big LCD screen as I expected.

usually remakes are nowhere near as good as the original movie but in my opinion this one is actually very good and worth watching. I think I've seen it just as often as I've seen the original NOTLD and this one is actually legitimate as Romero approved it and Tom Savini, who's done the make-up and gore effects for Romero in the past, directed it. It's slightly different than the original though as Barbara is much less annoying in this one and she is actually pretty badass. Much like Ripley in the first Alien movie. Hightly recommended!

Don't have to say much about this one. It's probably John Carpenter's best movie and it's awesome from start to finish. It's just a remake too (the original is from 1951 and pretty good too) but it's a remake done right! Great visual effects even by today's standards...I guess that's because I don't like the CGI crap...great setting, great atmosphere. This one just has everything that a sci-fi/horror movie needs.

heh, that's a good one. I remember when I've seen it the first time on TV when I was a kid and was like 'OMG...it's Rowdy Roddy Piper!!!'

Alien 3(don't remember how many times seen this...) Movie that should have been the end for this story. This was special edition which is somewhat different from theatrical release and better in my opinion. BD version doesn't differ that much from DVD version picture quality wise, obviously it's sharp but most re-work have been done on Alien and Aliens.

yes, the difference isn't huge but the picture is actually quite a bit sharper than the DVD picture. You can compare BD and DVD quality here

surprisingly good suspense/horror flick based on a Stephen King book. I watched the Director's choice version which is in black & white, even better than the regular theatrical version in color. The actors are all doing a really good job in this one, especially Marcia Gay Harden who plays a very convincing chrisitian extremist nut.

another really good John Carpenter flick. Imagine Night of the Living Dead and replace the "ghouls" with a horde of criminals trying to get into a police station. It's a pretty intense flick and much, much better than the not so good remake with Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne, as much as I like both actors.

Halloween (1978)

classic horror flick, again made by John Carpenter. It's the introduction of the masked serial killer Michael Myers which was followed by several not so good sequels. Far too many, to be more precise. Although I did enjoy Halloween II quite a bit and I guess Halloween III at least deserves some credit for trying something different (even if it was not a good movie) but everything that came after that was just ridiculous, not in a good way. Especially Halloween 8, what an atrocity. Anyways, I definitely recommend Halloween 1 & 2 but everyone knows them anyways.

classic Robert Rodriguez splatter fest. Like From Dusk Till Dawn this one's another winner. Everything is just great about this movie, the Grindhouse style, the actors fit in perfectly, the dialogue, the action and of course the blood, guts and gore.

one of my alltime favorite horror flicks. I'm a big fan and own all sorts of Hellraiser figurines and all movies on DVD (the first one on Blu-ray in addition), and yes that includes Hellworld, a total train wreck. Anyways, Hellraiser was one of the first horror flicks I have seen and have always considered to be fascinating, even if it's a bit campy too. Always loved the make-up and costume design, loved the hand made gore and splatter effects (always better than CGI....ALWAYS) and just the wonderfully creepy atmosphere. Hellraiser 2 is also great, BTW. I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray release...get your asses in gear, Achor Bay! (and please do a better HD transfer for Hellraiser 2)

Robocop

no introduction necessary...I mean, it's fucking Robocop after all! Another one of my alltime favorites. And since everyone knows it or at least has heard of Robocop I'll say a few things about the Blu-Ray release. Not really impressive, alas. I don't know if it's just due to source material limitations but the transfer to HD did not really up the quality much. It is sharper but not to an extend where you cry because you never thought you'd see that movie in such great quality. But it's the best the movie has ever looked...at least for now.

It's disturbing how well T2 (minus the CGI of course) holds up.
