It was the last day of autumn here today. The morning was a perfect dome of unbroken gray, with fog obscuring everything above 20 stories high, and the air had a wintry chill and a slight breeze. The leaves all stood out in their color, except the greens, which seemed to blend in. What a day to go to work to.
Then, we find our clients have screwed up their systems, so nobody worked today, and we all left at 1pm, and wouldn't you know. Outside it was warm (but still a bit breezy), totally blue and not a cloud in the sky, and it felt like a mild summer.
I decided to sit in the nearest park, which was gilded with leaves, both in the trees and carpeting the ground, and read a book there for a few hours, permitting no distractions. A fine day to do so really, a veritable triptych of seasons.
Now it's evening, the sun has set, and clouds appear on the west to herald winter tomorrow.
And that's my artistic wankery for the day.
