So one of the Target stores around here happened to have a glorious fuck up that has benefited me.

Browsing their clearance section for cheap games(best thing about Target after all) I notice a "InFamous 2" in the pile for only $30. After much debate with myself I decided to pick it up, especially after finding the official release date to be June 7th. Good job Target! Half price game a week before it's supposed to be released!

So on that note, it's fun. It's a lot like the first, but everything is more refined. Climbing is more fluid, combat is more fun and has more options right from the get go. Though I've only spent a little over an hour with it I already like it more than the first game. Also nice to use my PS3 again :P

No idea! They had a stack of them out there. I grabbed one and was worried they would end up saying they couldn't sell it to me. They had a game out on shelves before release once in the past and wouldn't sell it to me.

I have to say, spending more time with InFamous 2, it's far better than the first. More diversity in the attacks, more to do, everything is more fluid and refined.

What I don't really like is the inclusion of "the Freaks". They look like something straight out of Prototype, sans awesome gore.

Finally got myself a Canadian Xbox 360, so I've been catching up with Halo Reach, and watching my wife play LA Noire (which is impressive considering that my wife normally doesn't play games at all, other than maybe taking the controller for 30 seconds while I'm playing GTA or Crackdown and punching random pedestrians)

It is like watching a gritty detective drama where the detective is otherwise competent, but drives like a five year old though.

And now Rockstar is like 'uhmmmmm...yeah...uhmmmm....it's not our game that is causing this!' and that it's just a few cases. Right...just check the Rockstar support page and there's TONS of complaints of PS3 and Xbox 360 owners.

Oh and if your console dies as a result of this, you ain't gonna get it replaced. Awesome!

This happens with pretty much every game on the Xbox 360 though. (or at least a lot of them)
Someone's Xbox red-rings while playing a game, or while updating a game, and the person blames it on the game, rather than the fact that the older Xbox 360 models have shonky hardware.

I imagine some games are more likely to red-ring old Xboxes than others, (due to being more graphically demanding, and causing the GPU to heat up more than others), but it's not really a fault of the game.

Of course, it's possible that the game is causing the problem, but it's extremely unlikely that a bug would be able to damage both Xbox and PS3 hardware.

Man, that's jammy as hell. I'd have thought they'd have automated systems to prevent people accidentally selling products before their release date (like coming up with error messages when someone tries to scan the game).

Best thing in the world when it happens though. :D I remember I got Canis Canem Edit/Bully like.. a month and a half early when it came out. Someone working in HMV had dumped a stack on the shelves and was none the wiser when I bought it.

Still resisting the temptation to play L.A. Noire. No longer out of fear of PS3 death but rather just to save it for when I'm totally stuck for a game to play. After InFamous 2 there's nothing I really want till Dead Island comes out in Autumn and then the massive barrage of awesomeness that comes in October and November...

played L.A. Noire for 13 hours now without any sort of problem...knock on wood. The game is pretty awesome although I will admit it gets a little repetitive rather quickly. And I don't like the fact that the PS3-exclusive mission is only available to people in North America. That just doesn't make sense to me and Rockstar kept pretty quiet about that. I will admit the exclusive content was one of the reasons why I got it for my PS3. And pre-ordering the game for pre-order bonuses made no sense either apparently because all the content was released just a few days ago for everyone. I'm ranting again, heh :P ...anywhoo....I'm really enjoying this game. I'm glad it's not just another GTA or RDR clone!

I wouldn't mind an RDR clone. :D

One time before they wouldn't sell me a game they put out early. Their problem, my profit!

Talking of profit, I wonder how much it would have gone for on eBay!

Just finished Dragon Ages 2, and am massively disappointed with the ending, and some things.
Won't spoil the ending, but it reeked of cliffhanger, and enticement to buy further DLC...
Also really disliked having to play in always the same environment, I really thought there would be other places to visit, but no.

It's still a good game, mechanically it functions well, the combat, conversations, and levelling up is all fine.
But with those kinda of game, the story telling is deep, and I was looking forward for more, and it did not deliver.

You're being too kind. I honestly thought the game was, by Bioware's standards, absolute garbage.

Bioware's garbage is still better than most of the stuff out there...
But yea it was a disappointment, I had such high hopes for this series, and thought it could be better than ME...

it's E3 time! Mass Effect 3 looks awesome! But March 6th 2012? Dang!!! I'm looking forward to both Halo games too! and the new Tomb Raider? Looks pretty darn sweet too. Looks like a survival horror game, might just be the type of reboot that the series needs! Oh and Prototype 2 looks mad too, just as mad as the first one and I loved Prototype, it was insane!
