I made this thing in excel (same one as I posted previously, only slightly improved):

I also mapped out the threads' direction in Photoshop... but that's all a mess. Though I recommend making one to keep track of it all.

The gray and the white area are the same colors. I only used them to map out when to knit stockinette (white) and not.

Talented? Wow... I don't know about that. I honestly think anyone can do this with minimum training. I can't even knit socks (turned in to a great wristband though).

Oh gawd... I wish I HAD a pattern, but I was just improvising. I think it should be possible to crochet it only by looking at it. My increases and decreases for the "beak" can probably be improved. Up close it doesn't look that good. xD
