Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Had a very very VERY strange evening which left me feeling emotionally weird inside.

A good friend of mine keeps getting promoted and going on about all of the women he's sleeping with, and then getting defensive when his roommate and I tease him about it. This of course only reflects his own insecurity, but it's kinda annoying when he insinuates my jealousy of my situation. A) I do not want to work in marketing, and B) After what I just went through with a woman, I want nothing to do with casual flings, not that I was one for that in the first place.

Anyway, before that, a neighborhood girl tried to sell us CutCo knives, but she also tried to do it by leaving passive notes saying that she needs help with something for school, and that was fairly strange.

Then, I saw a pretty sad horrific scene, a woman clutching her dead dog after it had just been hit by a car, with a crowd around her. There was a guy making a call on a phone, but I still stopped to ask if there was anything I could do to help. They said no, and all I could do was just say sorry. There's something sad and futile about situations like that, and I hate that feeling.

On the bus ride home, while I had had a few beers, I was surrounded entirely by children, and two obese women in the back of the bus. On my way off the bus, one of the women, got very close and friendly, and admittedly... I was terrified. Flattered, but mostly scared.

There were some lesser strange things throughout the day, but those were the biggies in the evening.

I went home, fell forward on my bed, and immediately slept.

Broke your heart? It's someone else's pet dog for goodness sake, not your own Mother

People these days are too soft, and then wonder why they are left feeling emotionally weird.

People today are actually too emotionally vacant to see a woman sitting on the ground in tears and feel anything about being completely incapable of doing anything about the situation.

I never do this, but get bent. Your outlook on life is shameful, and I believe you're part of what is entirely wrong with the world.

Empathy is the key cornerstone in genuine human relationships.
To me it speaks volume that you we're affected by that event, and wanted to help, great human qualities for sure.

Well excuse me for helping. I look at it this way, we can do things your way, or my way, or any number of ways. But we can't live in a successful society doing them all at the same time.

A mate of mine came across the same scenario with a deer that had been hit, still alive, people were crowded out peering over the dieing animal scratching their heads, when to their surprise they saw this big guy coming over to them with a shotgun.

Blew its brains out and put it out its misery quick. The only thing that could be done to help it, which no one else there was doing. Needless to say his heart wasn't broken by the incident.

I dunno. Why can't we live in a successful society doing them all at the same time? I'm lost on this one.

@Octillus: I'm sorry bout your day, man.

I want peas!
Yes, we all want peace, but it's always just out of reach.
I know.
So, what's the best way to get peace?
With a knife!

Well you can have one now if you like.

You shouldn't always avoid confrontations just for the sake of it, or for being worried of consequences, or worse yet for being too lazy to start one. Online we are totally free to speak our mind :D

Because you can't run a country with lots of different ways of doing things, it just ends up falling to pieces eventually. There are too many individuals, too many illogical and non-productive ways of living being promoted. Generations of people have nothing in common, all known culture and traditions in the western world have fallen down the pan.

There always needs to be a set standard of objective ways of doing things, based on logical facts that everyone should be forced to accept, or else society simply decays and rots from the inside out as we are seeing these days.

I just now noticed the use of a certain C-word has been replaced by Bieber. When did this take effect? And great choice of replacement.
