Just hide behind stuff, aim, and pop out, then pop them in the head. That's how I roll, anyway. My 10mm pistol has been my best friend so far. You might find it easier if you get the hacking upgrades, some of the computers and things control cameras etc that you can disable so you're less likely to get detected. There are also alternate ways to get to most places, so it pays to snoop around and see if there's a different entry point that's going to make things easier.

So far I find the game...great, but not perfect. I think they took too long to bring it out, the graphics are a bit outdated and the AI is just plain retarded sometimes... I don't like the map either, but I guess it sort of works. The design though, I think it was spot on. They paid attention to detail, that's for sure. I don't quite know what does it, but it really has the feel of the previous games. The story so far is a winner and all the classic elements are there. From what I'd heard about it, I thought I'd hate the augmentation system and the individual ammo per weapon, but I really have no qualms with that at all. Then again I have had minimal situations so far of desperately scrounging for ammo whilst being completely obliterated in a hail of bullets that were all too commonplace in the previous installments, haha. I find the game pretty similar to Invisible War, but I think this time after all the complaints about it being thinned out they tried to find a happy medium. There are more augmentation options than IW and I like the extra hacking element, instead of being frustrated because I could only get through one locked door for lack of multitools, you can explore pretty much anywhere if you have the right aug upgrade, and the hacking itself is a rather cute minigame. I really, really hated the idea of regenerative health, but it's rather slow and reeally doesn't make things easier. Does not take long at all for someone with a combat rifle to take you down. All the health replenishing items are in deserted areas too, which kinda defeats the point because if you're out of sight, by then your health will have regenerated anyway, so I just toss them.

I think the radar system is also bit of a problem for me, maybe it is what makes it tougher for me. I hope it will be easier to stay out of sight once I upgrade the radar. But it has also seemed to me like enemies often see me although it should be pretty impossible for them to see me. And they can shoot through walls...somehow you can't shoot through walls though, it seems. I never played a Deus Ex game before so it may just take a while for me to get the hang of it. I do like the style of the game a lot too and actually don't mind the graphics. I think style is more important than super realistic textures. The controls are also kinda hard to get used to for me as I'm used to aiming down sights pushing the LT button and not the right stick. In this game you push the LT button to take cover. Pretty weird.

Hey all, sorry to interrupt (and hello again!). Just going through the forums/news after a while and thought I'd pose a question. Lately I've been playing a lot of Borderlands. That is, too much. I've probably logged 100+ hours so far. So, I guess my question to you guys is this: do you know of a game that has that sort of watered-down RPG element (skill trees, classes, looting, but not 30,000 different skill categories and 10-tiered conversations--it doesn't have to be an FPS, but something more of an adventure than your basic RPG grind)?

Also, I recently got Crysis. That game is ridiculously pretty (running it at max. settings :D ), and fun to boot. Oh, and who's psyched about the Portal 2 DLC later this month? I'll be looking for some dudes to play with.

You might wanna check out Yakuza 3
It's an action adventure game, you get to choose between 3 skills to level up to get bonus and new moves, you collect items and weapon, and have access to a weapon crafter as well.
Torchlight is a decent dungeon crawler in the Daiblo style with the same basic rpg elements.

hmmm, how about Demon Souls or Dark Souls? There's not really any or at least not many conversations in these games, plenty of loot, don't think the skill categories are über-complicated. BUT there's a hook. They are fuckin' difficult!

Loving your avatar btw, Archer rocks! :D

Thanks! Also, it looks like Dark Souls isn't out yet--and I don't have a PS3, so I can't play the other one. In any case, there's no way it's harder than this game.

tee hee, I love the AVGN! Well, I never played Silver Surfer but Demon Souls is pretty damn hard. And yes, Dark Souls is not out yet but it's supposed to be even harder than Demon Souls. Sounds like.....fun! :? heh

I must admit that I only beat the first huge boss in Demon Souls and I was a mess after that, hehe. I need to finish it sooner or later but I have to be in the right mood and up for a challenge of such proportions.
