Hobo with a Shotgun

I like Rutger Hauer, he's definitely cult actor if anyone. This movie on the other hand is total crap, borderline case between good crap or just crap. Wait... it's just crap.

Wishmaster 2 Was hooked after the first one, there's not much going on in this one except Demerest's smile and more ironic deaths. Fun.

Freddy's Dead Watched it for Freddy's one-liners and the absurd, almost 3 Stooges-esque scenes. Oh, and Alice Cooper. And Roseanne.

i thought it was pretty good! if you go in expecting an exploitation gore film then that's exactly what you got. it was painful to watch in places. i could feel my insides turning. unghhh.

Honestly think this is the funniest movie released this year.

Forgot to add:

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas
- I liked it. It's nothing spectacular but I don't think anyone would expect it to be. A lot of the jokes are not very funny but the movie moves from joke to joke pretty quickly. I'd say it was $15.50 well spent. Oh, and I enjoyed the 3D.

Don't get me wrong, I love gore films and B-movies in general, but somehow this just lacked that entertaining factor IMO.

Paranormal Activity 3

Obviously not by my own choosing, but it was okay. Explains itself more and is a bit less stupid than the other ones. Gives the series an actual plot now. I still don't like that the movies are ordered backwards, and I think you really have to pay attention to see the links to the other ones, but it was okay. If you haven't seen the other movies, this one still doesn't make it worth it.

Airplane! I have been waiting to see a movie like this for ages. This is exactly my kind of humour, almost Goonish at times. Love the wordplay and sight gags, the acting is so tight it's ridiculous.

No matter how many times I see that movie it still makes me laugh.

Speaking of comedies I saw Bridesmaids last night and it cracked me up. I had no idea Rebel Wilson and Mattt Lucas were in it. Very much along the same lines as The Hangover but the fact that it's mostly populated by women (and some very funny ones at that) made it stand out. I think one of the big keys to a decent comedy act/movie is having performers who are willing to just say "fuck it, I don't care if this works or if I look like a dickhead, it's funny and I'll go for it". And not enough women (for whatever reason) will take that risk, even though they are just as funny as blokes. That's what made this movie work for me. Women who will look silly for a laugh.

Oh yeah and I saw that new bloody Twilight movie tonight. Wifey goes to see my boy movies so I have to watch Twilight. On the upside we used the Dendy Premium tix I got as a gift, so I spent two hours lying down on a huge recliner while ladies brought me James Squire Amber Ales and hot chips with garlic aioli. Tolerable start to a weekend.

Revenge of the Drunken Master.
I fucking love martial arts movies at the best of times...but nothing beats shit surreal fight scenes, bizarrely cockney-dubbed Chinese dudes, ridiculous sound effects and a fucking stupid 80's soundtrack.
Honestly, if you can get hold of it- You'll die laughing. It's amazing.

A quote from IMDb 'cause it can't be summed up better:
"‎"What at first appears to be a fairly routine old school kung fu film eventually becomes a more memorable affair thanks to some crazy comedy and a few truly bizarre scenes. Director Godfrey Ho has taken a well worn basic plot and filled it with enough martial arts wackiness and original touches to ensure that the proceedings never become boring.

Witness the wonders of acupuncture kung fu: our hero, Drunken Kid, is a dab hand at acupuncture as well as Kung Fu, and is able to make people laugh uncontrollably with a well-aimed needle.
Tremble at the sight of the evil leader of the Blood Ninjas:
HIS CHAIR FIRES ARROWS, HE HAS A ONE-EYED GIMP, AND HE USES FLYING CYMBALS TO ATTACK HIS ENEMIES.

Scratch your head in confusion at the relationship between the bounty hunter and his female companion: he rescues her from bandits, proceeds to rape her, and yet somehow becomes the object of her affection.

Laugh out loud at the dubbing: I am sure one of the characters was voiced by Zippy from Rainbow!"

I'm honestly not sure if that's either the greatest thing ever or the craziest thing ever. It's probably both.

The last movie I remember seeing is House, a 70s Japanese Horror film.

I can't really give an opinion on it as my brain is still recovering. But, if you're interested/weirded-out, the full movie's on YouTube. Fair Warning: It's not exactly safe for work. Y'know, people getting devoured by pianos and some occasional disembodied breasts after a girl is eaten by a lampshade.

Your Highness While some mildly amusing moments, it seems that most of the fun is based on "modern" cursewords used in medieval times (magic, motherfucker etc.). Still, Natalie Portman, she seems to get hotter and hotter these days :classic:

Paranormal Activity 3

Well, this was average. I guess it did the same job as the rest of 'em in scaring the shit out of people, myself included. But, to me the ending didn't do any justice. Yeah, its a prequel to it all and such, but I felt like it could go on for a bit longer. Otherwise, it was a good enough movie to watch and understand.

A Fish Called Wanda

Okay now...THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE. John Cleese and Michael Palin are great as always, plus Jamie Lee Curtis suited well for a cunning fox haha. The plot was the key here. Similar to movies like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, I didn't know what to expect. Definitely worth the watch, especially for the "stuttering" scene towards the end  .
