I've only caught a couple of episodes but gee it makes an impression.

First one we saw was where his estranged stand-up buddy comes to town to tell him something heavy (not gonna spoil it for others).

It was both genuinely moving and COMPLETELY non-patronising. No cliche, no over the top drama, no saccharin, just beautiful, smart TV.

MOAR!!!

Duck when he first found out about. I thought something horrible was gonna happen, but he threw me a really beautiful, hopeful curve ball with that one.

It's riveting stuff.

And Juz, that was the first time Doug Stanhope's ever really acted, and he was so disturbingly good that I wonder how close to the truth that character really is.

He was just excellent. It was a part that could easily have slipped into parody or grotesque but he played it so straight, so believably. I loved it.

Just watched Comic Book Men, I'm impressed. Walt, Bry, Mike and Ming really brought it. WAY better than pawn stars. I also just adore those guys to no end.
