Price I pay for doing all this "young people" stuff...such as walking and standing at gigs.
Fucking sleep is merely a concept this week.

Hope this doesn't fuck about taking effect. :(

"prescription only" funny how things work, here in chile you can just pop up at the pharmacy and say "can i have a depo-medrol, plz?"

(we do not have the generic stuff here, heh)

If it's for doctor's use, why do you have it?

Well, wouldn't they require you to take it to the doctor so that they can administer it? I dunno, medicine to me seems like this huge vast thing where there are thousands of different meds for different ailments and I wouldn't imagine each clinic would keep all of those things on hand. Plus it's probably a security thing, they'd have to keep the shit in vaults or something to stop break ins...I don't know, that's my theory anyways.

Yeah, that's it.

Doc writes out prescription.
I get the vials from the Pharmacy.
Take 'em into the Docs next visit, and he keeps them in a drawer and hits me with one every so often.

Will be well-dosed before I leave for the U.K.

I've been on the strongest antibiotics my GP can prescribe for over a week and words cannot describe how icky I feel. They don't seem to be doing anything either, so his answer? Just put me on them for two months. Whee.

Wow. So I mentioned this in another thread at some point, but I'm making a short, 1 minute long intro video piece for a film festival I'm helping put here in New Mexico. It's a found footage piece of day time TV shows and just sort of asking what purpose do that serve other than just being the mind-numbing things they are. I used clips from like Maury and Jerry Springer and some soap operas and stuff.

So I got an email from my instructor today saying that some people came up to him after class and said that my video seems to depict women in a really derogatory manner. Like the clips I used show them in distress namely, and one has the word "rape" on it. That just made me feel fucking awful. I created something that made women look like that. Anyone that knows me knows I couldn't think anymore opposite from that... it's even more awful just knowing what some people who were offended must think of me now, that I'm some sexist asshole. I don't want myself, or my work, to have any sort of connotation like that. Ugh.

Does it go 'SMACK!'?

It goes "thpnkslishcruzzblorp!".
You know, like any sharp object ploughing through skin, nerves, connective tissue and cartilage would do.

Latest: Not only un-awesome but downright embarrassing.
SYBREED played in town on Saturday night (with 4 local acts)...to about 40 people.

Fuck me, I've had bigger gatherings in my back yard.
They were friggin' brilliant and played as if their lives depended on it, and also made jokes about the large amounts of fresh air in the room.

Another "boost" for the local metal scene.

Do it anyway. Had a girl on my course who had major "gore issues", she'd faint at the sight of blood or even just describing stuff like tendons and arteries. When I found this out, the next unit I made a decomposed severed head on a spike, lolz.
People will always find ways to have a dig at you about something, just use it as an excuse to excel...MAKE THEM EVEN MORE PISSED OFF!

People are too easily offended by random shit these days. Things that are truly offensive are now being diminished in their impact as a result.
But then again, if you are offended by something, the best thing you can do is just IGNORE IT. Or perhaps, if it is a person who you find offensive, tell them to fuck off or think of something clever to say that might in turn offend them - then it's a comedy. Of course, this logic mainly applies to things that could be construed as offensive but are actually little more than trivialities.

That is awful Sean, I'm sorry you got that kind of response. I will say, however, if you're ever going to try to hang in the creative medium you have to play the game. You're either going to have to go out of your way to avoid disparaging or offending anyone, or you have to sincerely not give a shit (without, y'know, being outright offensive). Both of these paths are viable, and the former allows you to be more malleable (and in many ways sets limits which can foster creativity), but you can't find an in between or it's going to drive you mad.

If you go one way, it's 1984. Another, and it's Brave New World. There's no utopia. There's no "perfect". What's more, everyone who opens their mouth is human. Do I enjoy racist jokes? No, because I have two mixed race children, so that area's a little more sensitive to me. BUt that's just it, that's my filter. I have no problem whatsoever with sexual jokes, but if someone else had a bad experience, they may be sensitive to them. I wish we could all just acknowledge that the human condition is a comical one, even if sometimes we don't feel like laughing, and move the fuck on. Save the offended sensibilities for actual bad people, not people who are good that unintentionally say something that happens to touch on something sensitive.

Sorry, having a bit of a whinge. I'm surrounded by bright young people full of potential at work who seem to want to whine and complain more than explore their potential, sometimes. And the old dinosaurs doing the same aren't helping.
