Tom Hardy naked, covered in butter.

I must admit, I have imagined that scene in the context of The Dark Knight Rises. Don't ask me why.

Real Steel Maybe if I was 15 years old this would be coolest thing ever, now I'm thinking that it should have been slightly darker and whole boy father thing should have been ditched. Also seemed too long. Still nice saturday afternoon entertainment, and Evangeline Lilly *drool*...

Red State What a potential, this could have been great but now it's just lacking in every field. Main reason I picked this up was director Kevin Smith (Silent Bob), seen his previous work and in that perspective really got my hopes up. Sure, it's somewhat different than his earlier work... I'm finding this somewhat hard to bring to words, but let's go with average. Shame really.

Our Idiot Brother.

Paul Rudd saves potential dud.

Rudd is charming in this and rescues it enough that it goes from shit to enjoyable enough feel good no brainer. Not sure they had to make virtually every character apart from the two stoners and the kid complete arseholes. Tediously predictable ending. Deschanel and Coogan wasted talent.

Rudd good.

Watched 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time last night. Could only scratch my head at the end, but the more I think about it the more I like it.

Loved Arthur C Clarke's books as a child too. The Rama series were my favourites. They make a movie out of the bloody Battleship board game but we haven't seen Rama movies. Bad Hollywood, bad.

The sad part is they haven't so much made a Battleship movie as raped the game in the ass and called it cinema.
Battleship should have some contrived plot that borrows from Tom Clancy and Under Siege. It should not be fucking Transformers on water! Ugh. :furious:

I wouldn't mind seeing an adaptation of one (or both) the later Space Odyssey novels, actually.

Mitch Hedberg:

Someone handed me a picture and said, "This is a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is when you were younger. "Here's a picture of me when I'm older." Where'd you get that camera man?

On an unrelated matter, this:

Spontaneously having a LOTR marathon since I got the extended Blu-Rays, plus it's been a few years since I've watched the movies.
Watching Fellowship tonight (brewing tea and crapping on this forum before watching the second disc), and will watch Two Towers tomorrow, Return on Sunday.
So far I can say the BD purchase was a good decision.
