The only other online community of any importance in my life is one dedicated to the San Francisco Giants, which is a baseball team for those not in the know.

The first person I actually told about my move across country, passed away this morning. We were supposed to get a beer at a San Francisco transplant bar in Manhattan when he visited next month.

Alex Lewis was 27 years old, and one of the funniest, kindest, warmest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and it's a goddamn shame we won't be able to get that beer.

Free Friday night drinks are great (office reward for work and such).

Accidently falling asleep on the train and waking up at a station 10 kilometers from your stop and having no way to get home except via taxi because no inbound trains (after waiting 20 minutes in the rain) is fucking annoying.

Just got word that my cousin is in renal failure.

That's a bummer stu, but if your cousin's young enough, they can have quite a few years on dialysis while waiting for replacement if they can stomach it. Be there for them.

Thanks man, they're watching him for now, but it's all leading to dialysis. I told him not to lose hope (he was hysterical at first.), but he'll most likely be all right. He's a tough guy.
