Ok, a second viewing of Prometheus indeed left me enjoying the film more.
The character development I still think was a bit flawed (as were certain character twists), and Guy Pearce's old man make up wasn't the best, but otherwise I'd say it was a pretty solid film. And since it was more of a precursor to Alien, rather than a direct link, it makes room for speculation and implications of how the two tales relate, and more stories to tell, and that's a good thing. That's just my opinion.
