Just noticed the Steam summer sale myself. Grabbed Fallout 3 GOTY and New Vegas Ultimate edition for a total of ~15

I was given Saints Row 2. Fun stuff but I haven't seen a game this sloppily coded in ages. Adds to the charm until it results in repeated mission failure.

Resurrected some long lost software. Gave up on Postal due to a combo of repetitive, pointless gameplay and annoying controls. Had some fun with the second for a bit but was pretty okay with not playing after the first day.
Decided to try a recent build of ResidualVM out and played Grim Fandango. More stable than compatibility mode by far. Completed as opposed to stopping 3/4 through to take a break from crashes. had a blast.

So, after some really weird framerate issues with Saints Row: The Third (and how they were inexplicably rectified), I've been playing that for a while.

Words cannot express how much this game delights me.

Is Saints Row the Third as buggy as its predecessor? I was amazed by the plethora of glitches I ran into with that one. Some added a nice Ed Wood aura and others... there's nothing like failing a mission because after the cutscene your car inexplicably spawns about 50 feet off the ground then detonates.

I've only played SR2 on PS3, so I can't compare between ports, but from what I've heard, SRTT is a much better port. I've only encountered one glitch total in the game, and that was when my bike got stuck between the edges of a bridge. I haven't had anything game-breaking, though. And even if it was glitchy as hell, it'd probably still be worth the money. Right now, SR3 is my favorite open-world game of all time.

Returning to the HevyDevy Steam Group, should I just start it up myself, or should I wait for someone higher-profile/a mod to do it?

Got Brutal Legend for $6.99. Would be a bit pissed if I paid full price because it's short and the PS3 bugs are ridiculous. However, it's a blast to play.

Moving on to psychonauts next.

Found Thief: The Dark Project at a second-hand shop. The original boxed version to boot. Slight wear on box, otherwise practically mint condition. Had a price tag of 3

And Death Rally has had a makeover as well. Haven't checked that one out yet though.

Thanks for this, I will be changing my secret things!
Mike Morhaime always comes accross as such an honest and fair guy, I have to say I like the way he leads his show.

And about video games, yesterday we bought The Darkness II and after about 7 hours later ending credits were scrolling on the screen
Don't know what to think about it.
It looked nice, sounded really nice (except Jackie's jump moan) and handled the storyline nicely.
Still a bit repetitive in battles, graphics were old, weird and cartoony (but eventually likeable!) and for sure it was short.
But with that story and all-the-same battles it would have not been fun to finish.

I've been hooked to Sims 3 + Pets, I am having so much fun playing it that I have nearly forgotten my WoW, D3 and XBOX games

you should check out The Darkness 1 then if you have not done that yet. It's not as short and the story is really cool too. And no cel shading graphics. I used to love that game a lot!
