Saw Lincoln over the weekend. Pretty good stuff-- Daniel Day Lewis and Tommy Lee Jones were both incredible, and the smorgasbord of other (varying degrees of) famous actors did really well too. It's a slower paced movie, which I enjoyed, and really immersed you in the politics of the time.
Also, every time I see the preview for the new Les Miserables movie I get more excited. Looks awesome.

Prometheus on Blu-ray
wow, blew me away yet again. You may like the story or not but damn, Ridley Scott is just one hell of a director and he should do more science fiction. Hopefully he'll direct the sequel too! And there's a shitload of bonus material, only watched part of it so far but it's too much to watch in one sitting. But it's really impressive stuff. Definitely one of the best Blu-rays of the year, if not THE best Blu-ray of the year. And to me personally Prometheus is even one of the best movies of the year.
I also gotta pick up the soundtrack. That main theme is sooooooo beautiful.

Umm... What exactly do you fill 4 blu-rays with? Isn't that like... 30 hours of material?
Breaking Dawn II is the worst thing to happen to cinema, ever. I sure as hell won't watch any of the other movies.
Clerks, the first cut (on Blu-Ray, woo).
I've seen Clerks too many times to count, and I've seen the deleted scenes a few times on my old DVD. I never picked up Clerks X on DVD cause I didn't feel the need to, but since it's out on Blu-Ray, I figured what the hell. Loved Kevin Smith's acidic comments on the Blu-Ray for the Jay and Silent Bob documentary (the sole Blu-Ray exclusive feature - everything else combines the previous DVD editions).
The main movie and features look great, but the First Cut looks and even sounds like VHS crap, which I admired. Watching the movie in its enirety (read, all the deleted footage put back in) just gives you a nostalgic, indie feeling more so than the theatrical version. That said, I still prefer the theatrical as it has a better pace and ultimately a better ending, but it's good to know I can watch the whole film and not look at the outtakes afterward.

1 BD for the movie in 3D, one for the movie in 2D, one for the bonus material and the 4th disc is a DVD with the movie on it in standard definiton.
The Hobbit. It was good. If you are as big of a Tolkien geek as I am you'll get a huge kick out of all the added backstory. The 10 minute prologue was absolutely stunning. And it all looked amazing. Bit too cgi heavy but good. I heard a lot of complaints about length and 48fps. My reaction was the opposite. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough original music. I think they play "cold misty mountains" about 5-6 times total.
Don't expect a 4th Lord of the rings movie going in. The tone is completely different.

Hobbit for me too.
On the whole I was delriously happy to immerse in PJ's Middle Earth again for 3 hours. Funnily enough the original music thing was the first thing I thought when the film started. That's the LOTR them, not the generic Tolkien theme...
I was a bit ruffled by some of the inserted jokes tbh, and some of the pic battle scenes that aren't in the book. Given how reverential the LOTR trilogy was to Tolkein and the legacy of the books, I thought this was plyed a bit more 'Hollywood'.
The book of the Hobbit is nothing like LOTR in style though - much more accessible.
I was glad I sprung the extra for the 3D enormo screen. And will be back to see it again before Christmas.
