I started getting into Devin in '99/2000, around the Physicist time, but it was with SYL that I started to get into him. As for his solo stuff, I started buying that around 2002 when I became a huge fan of SYL and began to get really curious as to what his solo stuff was like. Wow, was I in for a pleasant surprise...

Physicist was brand spankin new when I got into the Dev's solo stuff, but I got into SYL a lot earlier because of City.

I discovered Dev's music in 2004 by buying Heavy as a Really heavy thing...

2004, I think. Might've been really early '05, though. First album was "Terria".

it was in 2001 but it wasnt Terria, Someone recommend SYL's City so I downloaded a few songs then went out the next day and bought it. Six months later I did some more reading up on SYL and found out that he had Solo projects, I ended up downloading a few songs and then after listening that day I ordered half of the Devy Catalog. Two days later the shipment arrived and I listened to all of the CDs and then a few wakes later I ordered the rest of the Devy Catalog as well as a tshirt and sweatshirt, and I have been buying all the releases since then.

Haha, yes, that's an interesting point to make that had slipped by me: I got into Devin in the first place because I heard 'Detox' and thought it was cool so I downloaded stacks of SYL.... Because I downloaded so much and got into it so much I ended up buying every CD Devin made.

So downloading, ey! It does have its uses...

It would of been around the time of the Physicist I think. My whole outlook on music changed from that point.

Yeah! i heard 1 album from devin and it acctualy felt like everything had changed, thats just how powerful his music is

I bought Terria in 2002 thru Ebay & love that cd since then. Earth Day is one of my all-time favorites songs up there with Don't Fear the Reaper, Watching Over You, & Cowboys from Hell.

There's a similar thread, about which was your first album, for this one you should choose which period it was (so if you bought OM when AE was released, choose AE).

HAARHT - in this as well as the other thread. That was just a coincidence, though, since I bought that album without having heard anything from it. And it wasn't until "City" came out, that I realised that this guy (Devin) was for real, and not just a wierdo...

First heard Detox on MTV when it came out. But didn't buy City until around 1999.

My first Devin solo CD was Physicist if I recall correctly.

In 1999, but since there is no option, I'll answer the closest album - 2000 and Physicist. I heard two SYL tracks (AAA & Underneath the Waves) and one solo song (Unity), from the recommendation of a forum friend of mine. That's where it all started
