dev has been (and still is) my favourite musician for about 6 or 7 years ! and every new album (dtb/syl/solo-stuff) is "freshing up" the top position.
other all-time-faves of mine are (in no order):
faith no more / mr. bungle / tomahawk / fantomas & all other patton - projects,
type o negative,
neurosis / tribes of neurot,
porcupine tree,
metallica,
ac/dc,
opeth,
samael

ride on, dev !

I would say that Devin is definitely tied with anybody else. I love his music and think it is just amazingly great. But I do go through spells where neither SYL or the DTB work for me, but Devin definitely writes the best music to ever hit the planet. Myabsolute favorite artist tied with Zakk Wylde.

Something about Zakk's music is just amazing. He thinks hes a great guitarist, but hes just a really good songwriter with the ability to write a fucking awesome riff. His solo abilities are sub-par though, as I know many bands that blow his skills out of the water. But they could never write a tune like him.

Then come:
Pantera
Iced Earth
Nevermore

And the list goes on with all the other stuff I listen to. But this is the primary stuff.

But Dev and Zakk both tie for first, theyu both have wrote more than one album that helped me through rough times and helped me with improving myself. And for this I give them ultimate respect for shaping my later teen years. In recognition, I incorporated both of them into my first tattoo on my forearm.
