I just found out about this technique and I really want to get into it myself. If I'm not mistaken...it's recording with 2 microphones, placed in a way that would be equivalent to the placement of human ears. Then, when you listen to it on headphones, it's extremely realistic and you can get things to sound like they are behind you or above you even, just with stereo headphones.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this, and might know what kind of mic to get, and how much it would cost to get into doing binaural recordings. Right now I'm really just interested in recording the sounds of nature and stuff like that, but it could really open up a lot on the music side, too. Any help would be appreciated...this stuff is REALLY cool.
