Well, the offer stands. PM me your details if you want one.

you are possibly the most generous person I actually know! all hail the blazingmonga!

will you be posting an audition thread for this?

There is nothing set in stone at this stage. HDAS is not really that far behind me and I have a few other things I would like to work on first. However, seen as HDAS was so well recieved I think I would like to do something similar again.

But that is something for the future.

well, it'll be nice to hear what you concoct on your own before delving into another hdas record. I have to admit, Cheese Based Mongalude was rather interesting. I'm guessing you're a large ambience fan?

Heh, I am not generally too proud of the stuff on HDAS...it was more for fun, but it was interesting to see what I could come up with in such a short time. In retrospect I would not have included what I did. Oh well!

I am very interested in samples and their use to create ambience. I am not actually a huge fan of the genre, but I am very interested in creating noise-based soundscapes. I have always loved editing and manipulating waveforms but it is only recently that I have had the incentive to put some kind of direction into it all.

So, I now have some instruments and a midi keyboard to play with. I have some very strange sounds brewing. I intend to record something quite lengthy at some stage. I have it planned out, I just need the time to do the damn thing.

Expect painful sounds in the nearish future!

Shopping Kart is a fantastic band indeed. Pierre is an incredible singer, Pete an awesome guitarist, I love these guys. You can get a 'live' dvd they released recently. Check this link for more info

The band is writing new songs as we speak and without a doubt will hear more from them soon.

Shopping Karts record is also possibly my favourite song on the album, bar "Interlude" and "There's A Cup Behind You On The Thing"

By the way, Monga, I absolutely love the "mix" of my track. How exactly did you get rid of the two horrible pops that were artifacts of a, hmm, what's a good way of putting it.... horseshit CD burner? I'm planning on including that track on an album sometime and I'd really like to have the version you tweaked, but without the fades on the beginning and end. Whenever it goes on the album, I'll give you production credit, so please, get back to me so we can work out a way of getting the track back to me. Thanks.

Haha, I had forgotten about those. Those pops were something that I only noticed at the last minute and were maybe the last change I made before the final version of HDAS. I think I tried a few different techniques but the thing that worked best was actually just the 'click and pop remover' function on CoolEditPro. If you zoom right in on the pop you can usually get it to identify it and remove it. The noise reduction features on that program are very handy. No great skill to it really!

As far as getting the track back to you, that should be fairly easy. I can upload the wav to somewhere and then you can get it. I will do that as soon as I can.

Sir Ike, PM me your name and address and I shall send you one. I will be going to the post office soon to send a few others anyway. Then you shall have one!

To all those awaiting HDAS:

Terribly sorry, but I have not yet posted any of them. A bummer, I know, but I have been very busy with work and other things at home. I havent even had time to make the discs yet, let alone post the buggers.

It will happen though, I promise.
