What does everyone think of this band? I love them. Cheesy as hell but just plain good music and those layerd melodies ah....beautiful.

I HATE them with a passion! I'm not into the power metal shtick at all, really, but BG would be near the top of my shit bands pile. Hansi's voice drives me insane.

I don't like power metal much. I loved the live version of "Lost in the twilight hall" or something. I guess that German accent just made me laugh

Their cd Somewhere Far Beyond was the first cd I ever bought when I was 10 or so, and it was just cause the cover reminded me of Dungeons and Dragons. I loved it. Haven't heard much else by them though..

I don't really see what people have against the band. Sure, power metal may not be your thing, but really... I dunno, I like them. What I really can't grasp is how someone could find Hansi's voice annoying though. I don't really hear any specific quirks or techniques which sets his voice apart from other singers of the genre. Not to say he doesn't have a unique voice, as he does, but apart from not having a 100% clear, clean singing voice, I don't really hear anything that could be considered 'annoying.'

Oh well. Perhaps it's just because I don't really find any music annoying, with very few exceptions... I just find it hard to really put the word 'annoying' in the context of something like music. It just seems too strong a word to me, or maybe just out of place. That's just me, at any rate.

As soon as I checked out their myspace to find they don't even have a bass player, I gave them the boot. Then I listened and they went even further down. I don't mind cheese, just so long as it's done well!

Not only that but their album art looks like the cover art of an 80's computer game.

i think that is pretty much the thing... i've got the dvd and they do have a bass grunt on that
