It has to be said.....

I worked the skin-head better than her. Gail Porter works the skin-head better than her.

I work it pretty well. But being a bloke probably means I don't count! ;)

Paparazzi give me the creeps. What a way to make a living.

What a bunch of lowlifes. I would flip every fucking time, I mean ... wtf? Does a person really have to put up with this? Not her, anyone? I mean, whoever chooses to buzz around you and flash into you is free to do so and you can't get rid of him? Yeah right! Damn it, I knew this is the way paparazzi work but seeing it like that just pissed me off. Subhuman. Public has the right to know my ass.

I think there should be a law that states "if you are a paparazzi you are not allowed to sue people who kick your face after you take their picture against their will." Or something.

I can't believe I'm on the side of celebs here, but hey, celebs are people who sell their face, or body, or skills, whatever, right? And they get payed well for it, right? Who provides for them? The general public, the masses. Ok. Now, celebs choose personally what they will sell and for how much, right? I mean, it cannot be the rule "if you sell something, you sell everything"? Now what is the role of paparazzi? They are doing the selling and taking the money. An interesting analogy: if I have a garage sale, are people allowed to take my things when I don't have a garage sale and sell them on their own? It's not the same I know, but fuck, it almost should be! If I'm a public figure, it is so because I choose so, and I also choose when I'm a public figure, it's not the public's decision. The public is stupid and evil, who's gonna trust them with anything besides the election. Fuck, where do I land my point, I'll fuck off now, this has spoiled my late evening. :(

Right on Goat!

I have very little time for rich folk complaining about how tough their lives are. But imagine having a bunch of dickheads follow you everywhere you go, shoving flashing cameras in your face no matter what you're doing. I'd chase them with an umbrella too! The whole situation is unfortunate and they all come out losers.

Only sad thing here is that this thread has been going on for three pages. She is Britney Spears. Who the fuck cares? Go watch E!Entertainment or something. There are millions of people in the world who are going through much harder times every day and they don't have millions of dollars to comfort them. She made her choice, stop careing. If you want to help her please don't give a shit about her life. Don't buy those "newspapers". Don't watch anysort of celebrity stuff. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP CAREING!!! I'm so fucking sick of media making us worship money. Please try to make a difference.
Even my local newspaper which is read by only about 100,000 people is now trying to convince me how I need to buy the new "book" "written" by our prime minister's ex-media-girlfriend. I don't give a shit. I have a life of my own you know?

If I get banned or something because of this It'll just prove how fucked up we all are.

Now, see... I can't exactly see you getting banned for it, but I simply don't understood your attitude. You're fiercely determined to place limits on the compassion of others and I'm not entirely sure you're even aware of it. It's a particularly negative, narrow-minded and utterly fruitless way to look at the world.

We've spent a short period of time (on an individual basis), paying attention to one particular human being's dealings with the press and having a good laugh at her hair. And we discussed the way in which a human being can be marketed as a commodity, and the repercussions this can have for them when they don't fit the cardboard cut-out, for whatever reason.

Funnily enough, it's a theme often brought up in Dev's earlier music (as though relevance were a pre-requisite for this forum!). Your response is to spout a half-arsed rant about the "millions of people" suffering in the world. As though we're using up our compassion credit, when we should be spending it in more worthy ways! That's quite a stretch of the imagination, to put it more politely than I perhaps should.

I don't feel particularly bad for little Brittany, but I certainly don't need you telling me who I should "care" about, how much compassion and awareness I have, or how I should distribute it.

Pull your head in.

Could you please tell me why you are agreeing with Goat but not with me? If that "millions of people" comment bothers you, I used it only to express that Britney is not important. Sorry if I broke your little bubble there. I didn't ask anyone to feeding the poor in Africa or anything.

Yes, my response was a half arsed rant but only because I was and still am pissed off. BUT the main point wasn't those "millions of people".

I don't feel particularly bad for little Brittany, but I certainly don't need you telling me who I should "care" about, how much compassion and awareness I have, or how I should distribute it.

I feel bad for little Brittany and my advice to help her was this:
If you want to help her please don't give a shit about her life. Don't buy those "newspapers"
And there is something wrong with that because...?

To make it simpler my main point is, was and always will be this:

Do not buy newspapers because it has celebrity this and celebrity that on it. Do not buy them if they have titties on cover. If you do, those will become news worth telling and important things will be left aside.

I'm not pulling my head anywhere.

Kivenkantaja. If you read more carefully, you'd see this is not about Britney anymore. First off, it was about the skullet. Then it was about pity and disrespect and now we're on paparazzi.

And btw, my first post was on the first page, where we share the same idea, only narrative is somewhat different:
Goat wrote:I would only start caring if she'd become part of my life somehow. Anyhow. She's not. Her story is no one of a kind, all this spotlight is "them" showing "her" to "us". If she is the way she is and we can do nothing about them, then it's up to us to not look in the spotlight.

Ash! Only now I see you "subhuman" comment! A bad word? A no-no? You mean ... like ... as bad and as no-no as paparazzi? I wholeheartedly despise them. And I can back it up, I mean I could do a daylong discussion with any of them on why they are subhuman lowlife scum. We would probably finish with the conclusion that in current society settings there is infact a structural anomaly making a place for subhuman lowlife scum a necessity, but nonetheless. Sorry.

I'm not surprised when the level of conversation in here is stuck at "Recent Purchases" and "MY POOR HARD DRIVE". The general discussion forum usually circulates around endless music discussions about various well-known metal artists and the same old topics like "What's pleasuring your ears right now?". Change is good.

Like it or not, Britney has more exposure than the average person who suffers day-to-day. Her life is inescapable, it's everywhere. If she shaves her head and for a brief moment it resembles Devin's skullet then DAMNIT, that is worth some general discussion!

Go discuss NIN's new album and stop boring me.

Goat: If you look closely enough and see behind the curse words you'll see my comment wasn't about Britney either. A little bit yes but it was more about media collectively.
