"Despise" is such a strong word. How's aboot "Hate with a motherfuckin' passion". It's a little less intense, but it still gets the point across.

Random thought: If taking photographs is an art, how come I feel like such a tool when I try to take them?

Care to explain, expound and exposit?

Sure: I just bought a DSLR. A Nikon D40, to be exact. Why? Well, I have this idiot notion that I would like to take photographs for artistic reasons. I've taken over 500 so far with the new camera. However, there are a couple of issues: 1) There is a HUGE learning curve. Not a problem...what is the point of doing something if you aren't going to do it well? One way to do things well is to learn all there is to know about the subject. I just feel like a slight idiot right now. 2) What am I trying to say with the photographs? Right now, I feel as though I am learning to speak. I hope to start saying something meaningful soon.

The tool part? I keep getting funny looks from people as I am photographing. I am not taking their picture, so why are they giving me the evil eye? I dunno. I just hope I do not embarrass the real photographers out there. I don't want to step on toes, I just want to express myself in a medium that, right now, feels as powerful as music.
