Well, I wouldn't doubt that Dev could pull off something that low, but I suppose it may be pitch-shifted as well.

I don't know about the pitch shifter.
Remember the singer from Cryptic Coroner? That was pretty low, and I'm sure Dev didn't use a pitch shifter.

I think so, Devin is the only one credited for vocals in the booklet. And Beav and Dave for additional dialogue.

I wonder if the growls are electronically "altered" or tuned a bit (at least there seem to be more than one layer of vocals)? Or can Dev really growl so deep? If he does it for "real" he is a better growler than Akerfeld, i think, and should do it more often! If it´s electronically tuned a bit, that´s of course okay, too. I know that Dev is one of the best metal singers ever (if not the best) and his vocal range is fantastic, but i never heard him growl so deep.

PS: If Dev can really growl that way, i would declare him to be the best metal vocalist right now... However, the Planet Smasher vocals rule.

If Devin can do SYL, I'm sure he can growl. It's really not that hard. And I'm not sure I'd declare him better than Akerfeld. That dude can really growl!

And I also wouldn't call Devin the best metal vocalist right now. One of the best, but not the best.

So what about when it is hard? Are you suggesting Devin can only go deep when it's flaccid? Some fanboy you turned out to be! Pffft.

I know Dev can sing deep and low but that is a pitch shifter. He also uses it for Bad Devil. Check out Bad Devil live on the Official bootleg.

Im sure Mr Dev could varify this. :)

Maybe it´s "normal" vocals doubled with pitch-shifted or something. Anyway, i´m glad Dev uses electronical helpers (if hog´s right), because it fits absolutely perfect, Herman´s vocals are really smashing. Of course it´s the musical quality what counts.

But being a fanboy, those questions are of some kind of interest for me. I maybe would ask the same question regarding the Ziltoidia Attaxx guitarsolo, which is fucking great, even if something has been electronically altered afterwards (which i don´t know)!

I'm expecting a new member named "Herman" within a week.

There was research on names and how they affect people and social situations indirectly and some names were associated with failure and insignificance. Herman is one such name. For instance, a person named Ziltoid would get all the attention with just a snap of his fingers and a person called Herman could scream all he wants and no-one notices him.

I'm not sure if Dev knew this and intentionally named the planet smasher "herman" :)
