Hey Dave...
The "trinity-version" won't differ from the other versions musically seen.
But it'll be a bit more "personal". Think of it as an "ultra-limited deluxe
edition", coming in a Digipack, with a t-shirt and with even more stuff
on the bonus DVD. But don't worry, most of the stuff will be just private
messages to Devin from both Mike and me. You know: "what your music
means to me , how it changed my life and why I did this tribute...".
Private stuff like that...
Yeah, the drums...programming drums can be a real pain in the ass...
Sequencing a really "alive-sounding" drum track is a very time-
consuming process. It's much more comfortable to work with a real
drummer. It gives you a lot of new ideas while jamming the parts.
And it's a lot easier to change things without having to program new
sequences first. Plus: Mike is an old friend and bandmate of mine,
also is a big Devin Townsend fan and he was with me when I started
the project in 2000. We lost contact for a while, but now we're playing
together again. We know each others playing style well, and we make
a perfect team.
Well, Mike is not a Gene Hoglan on the drums and neither am I a
Devin Townsend on the guitar or on the vocals, but to hell with it.
We'll do our best...and I think that we're gonna kick some ass...
