As general rule, I am completely musically retarded. But I got thrown onto Garage Band, and had much fun =D I came up with a kinda strange ambience piece, and felt like sharing. :D
I'm at a loss as where to go with it though, so I'll take any recommendations on board.

As well as any musical advice of any description. I'm desperate (probably wrong word choice) to learn some instruments, but I can't really afford lessons, and I don't know where to start self teaching. The only piece of theory I know is how to make a major and a minor chord on a piano. :D

Thanks guys :D

Maybe there's not much sounds here, but I think you avoided wrong ones (most precious skill, WANT). Neat samples and ambience, really rainy.

And if I could point what to do with started piece of music I'd have lots of it myself :)

Yeah I see where you are coming from. I wanted to do more, but I only had an hour. Hopefully next time I can pack some more into it.
Thanks though, I'm glad I avoided the wrong sounds at least heehee.

And good point - I didn't know if anyone could point in in a direction for it. I was thinking along art lines where you are forced to get an 'outside opinion' of things xD But sometimes they do help :D

Aww thanks. I wasn't actually expecting a good response. I feel all blushed.
Yeah I know it's awfully short. I would of made it longer I swear D:
Backwardsy? As in it sounds like it's playing backwards? :P

I can't do anymore for awhile, but after the christmas hols I'm hoping to sneak into my friends music class for an hour or so after college, so with any luck I can make some more =D

Yeah. It sucks its only for Macs =/ There is cubase which I have, but in all honesty, it sucks.
I don't really know enough about Garage band, apart from the fact its got tons and tons of things to it that I can play around with =D It has some prerecorded drum tracks, and lots of sound things. Perhaps not enough for my liking, but then I don't think I know how to use it properly yet so.

I'll get Phase to put a post up about it, seeing as he actually knows something about it. :P

It's a lovely, easy to use music program. Has turns of pre-made sounds you can use, and hundreds of pre-made loops, ranging from drums to vocals. You can record your own tracks directly into it and so on. Easy to use, but I'm unaware of any similar programs. Easiest to use (like most music programs ) with a midi-input of some sort.

That's about all I know. xD Apart from it is more of a hobby program than a pro one, in which case you'll want to step up to Logic or Reason (if you're using a Mac, that is. xD)
