I don't mind hippies. It's just the useless ones that annoy me. xD It's all good saying "I want to change the world!", but this is rarely achieved by sitting around, playing guitar and smoking weed. But strangely, a hard working hippy is somewhat rare.

depends on your definition of hippy. I know a large number of very hard working hippies in all sorts of fields of endeavour from scientific research through social projects to artistic projects. I could point you in the direction of hippy doctors, welders, builders, farmers etc etc. They aren't the same oones sprawling around Glastonbury High st on a Sunday afternoon though.

By the same token I have encountered plenty of extreme metallers who sit around playing guitar and smoking weed, saying "I want to destroy the world" or people who sit around stealing cars on a Playstation console.

useless people are useless people, however long their hair is.

I don't think I could of defined this better myself. :D

And Glasto isn't such a bad place. I'd go there. Never been to the festival though...

*GASP*

UNTRUE HIPPIES!!11!!!111111111111111¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬`1

But like you said, useless people are useless. I tend to avoid those folk. I love going to gigs and finding out what people REALLY do for a living...anyone heard of Akercocke? I think they all work in IT and they're proper satanic  I know a guy who's ultra-mega-duth-mutul band played at Download last year, went back to work the following Monday, one of his A2-Level students said "....nice set Mr Gomez  "

So, labels suck and are as unrepresentative in real life as they are in music. Damnit, will this conspiracy never end?!!?!

Fuck that, when people ask if I'm a hippy I tell them I drive an SUV, love the second amendment, and eat meat on a regular basis :P

Se og Hør-style! Kanskje man kan få til et "hjemme oss" intervju i tillegg?

Oh god, how I would travel to a HDR-forum-meeting with the money I do not possess.

Give me one. NAO!!!!! Must has!!1#!

What's that one phrase? "If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, Muhammad must go to the mountain."
Yeah so what I'm trying to say is... let us go to Canada!!! Makes sense, right? After all, that's where the Townsend is!!! :P
Now, I'm not trying to sound stalkery, like "let's all show up on his doorstep," I'm just saying ... a HevyDevy meet up might make sense to take place in the land of Townsend 8)

I can imagine it: we'd all be meeting and greeting, wearing little name tags that say, "HELLO, I'm DsD," and with our real names written below. Maybe some punch and snacks... maybe some dranks... and a whole bunch of people from all over the world just nerding out on everything Townsend related.

I forgot about this. It'll have to be somewhere on mainland Europe, I reckon. Just cos there's more countries there and it's all in the Euro. So Englishians will reap the benefits of the exchange rate. Sorry Americanos, your dollar is piss if we hold the meetup anywhere outside of America. And Europe is great cos we're looking for our next hollyday destination there anyway. Hahahahaa I'm so rich with my JOB!

Srsly though, there are a good few people from here I'd really be up for pints with irl!
