Question for Dev...
Since we have children that are close in age I feel you may be a good person to ask for parental advice! My 2yr old LOVES Terria and Synchestra. She specifically asks for HevyDevy when we get in the car. I oblige her demands of course. What age do you feel is truly appropriate to introduce SYL? I'd like to broaden her musical horizons early, but I don't want to scare the poor girl.

Well, I don't think that's quite true. I think if we inquired into Devs sex toys collection, there may be some barriers No, I don't know if he really does. I'm just making a really bad joke.

Hmmm I dunno if this'll help or not, but I got my brother into Devs solo stuff a little while ago, hes just turned 12 and he loves 'Satans Ice Cream Truck' But he loves the song Wrong Side too. Whether it's appropriate or not, I'm not sure. But my parents swear everyday about as much as a SYL album, so I guessed it's probably fine.

I guess though it depends on if you want to kinda, keep her away from the darker side of things at a younger age or not. Being a 2yr old, she'll have (I imagine) quite a different perspective on it. My parents being into various types of rock and metal, I was 'exposed' to a lot at quite a young age. I don't think it's damaging, but I think it would all be about that magical word... "Balance."

One of my least favourite things about music is knowing an album is done but you cant listen to it for a while while printing/promotion goes on. Ah well, should make it that more amazing when I get a copy in the post. Ive sworn to myself im not going to listen to a leaked version, im going to get the cd first Gonna be hard.

I don't know if anybody else has done this, but I downloaded the Ki Teaser from MySpace and put it on my MP3 player

My father always introduced me to rock music from the 60's and 70's. My mother, being a music teacher, thought she was introducing me to a variety of music (if you consider broadway, classical, and opera a wide variety). But I grew up as a trained musician. I had to discover hard rock and metal on my own and through friends. I want to give my daughter an opportunity to have a TRUE knowledge of musical styles and let her decide on her own what she wants to listen to. At 2yro she's off to a good start. HevyDevy, Porcupine Tree, and The Who are her favorites. My infant seems to like Type O as they are the only music he won't cry to in the car. I can't wait to play Ki for them.

If Americans are so desperate to have it in May why not just order it from a European outlet when it gets released over here? Amazon or something.. Or get a Euro-friend/relative to get it and post it to you.. It seems to be a pretty easy thing to get around.

Actually, I've noticed things seem to be a bit Europe centered at the moment. Not that I'm complaing, I love it. All of my favourite musicans release either in Japan or America.
