ah well im not even going to pretend i can hear the difference between flac and 320kbs mp3, even on these great speakers. to each his own

Depends what you're listening to. With Dev, mainly the ambient albums and Strapping you can sometimes hear stuff that would be otherwise inaudible on a lower bitrate or low quality speakers.

The way I listened to it the first time (and the only way I've been able to listen to it since) was blasting into my brain through some high quality headphones. Turn the volume up, and it's like it's penetrating my ears and having sex with my mind.

Also I apologize for my weakness. But not really, I intend to buy it anyway, and it's not so bad or different at all really to hear it April 10th instead of May 25th, I guess.

Maybe Dev should offer a high-res digital download (FLAC, Apple Lossless), similar to Nine Inch Nails' digital offerings?
