I'm just thinking, if you can finger-style, pick, throw in bass harmonics, bass chords, slides, use Geddy's 'noisy bast-ud,' (sigh, slap) tap etc. that's going to make you a really well-rounded bass player. And that's ideal - people will want you! As much as people ignore bass players, good ones are hard to come by, and it's a good idea to keep 'em around 8) 8) 8)

I have not, but would like to buy a portable, human-sized personal air-conditioning unit; except they don't exist. It's so hot heeeerrrreeeee

The bassist from Protest The Hero is a beast. He taps all kinds of stuff, plays chords and just has genuinely amazing bass lines on their new album.

Perhaps what I should've said is: other bass players might take notice of your good technique if you happen to come out of the shadows!
