Anneke is coming to Vancouver, we are doing a cover of Hyperdrive on Addicted, as well as lots of duo vox. I LOVE her voice, strong and pitch is great. Shes my age and has a kid too.

Mark Cimino is my good friend of 15 years from New York...we were roommates in LA during Vai, he was Vai's assistant at the time. He's a walking party and great guitarist.

I'm playing guitar...of course!

Super high tech production, with a HEAVY groove factor. RVP is murdering the kit...the guys an animal in the best way.

Beav is one of my best bros and been support to me for years, so him on bass makes a lot of sense.

Randy Staub is mixing 3 songs, Mike Fraser is mixing a two, and I'm mixing the rest.

It's VERY HIGH ENERGY and a ton of fun. An intense, powerful clean trip.

We track it in 2 weeks.

Heavy grooves, deep grooves, all sounds wonderful.

These projects are really picking up speed aren't they? This is going to be one helluva year!

Yup, I love doing it...I feel pretty damn lucky.

I heard Annekes version of Hyperdrive and wanted to do a new female version of it for the album, something about it...I had a dream the other night that I was playing the song, and when I went to the mic, it was her voice. I'm just going to go with it.

I like the male / female vocal thing, but SERIOUS vocals, I'm thinking that Addicted might be the best use of my old voice yet...and to have that juxtaposed by a kick ass female vocalist is suh-weeeet! (am I cool for saying that? ...how about 'mint' ?)

Addicted is like dtb with adult lyrics but it's much heavier actually...

all this talk of a female singer... you're gonna need more to match nickelback

Sounds fucking great. And a new studio version for Hyperdrive! I hope it's as awesome as the original one. Will the arrangement (instrument-vise) be the same as in Ziltoid or significantly different? Drums will obviously now be real, which is cool...

Although Hyperdrive has always been one of my favs on Ziltoid, it would kind of be a shame to put a cover of your own song on a new album.

I cannot explain how excited I am for this. Devin is my favorite musician and Anneke is my favorite singer. You guys are going to make one awesome record.

Maybe we can get a Devin/Agua de Annique North American tour!
