I love Swanö's deep and clear voice, especially on Nightingale's "I" and his Moontower-record. His death growls are nice, too, though. He's my second-favourite vocalist in metal, i think (#1: The Dev, of course).

We can listen to his work on some albums in particular?

Get Accelerated Evolution.
Beav (Brian Waddell) plays guitar on that album. Not sure if he normally plays bass but these guys are multi-talented :-)

Thank you for your answer.
I see well which is now. I hope that the bass will be audible on "Addicted".

Remember on "Terria" this monstrous bass with a very warm sound. Miam. :yingyang:

Dan Swanö is an awesome guy and musician. He's the only "real" musician I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in my tiny town, and he was a very nice guy. He's a very known man in most metal circles, but he still didnt think too highly of himself to play a gig with maximum 30 people attending (yeah, my town is quite small, and the metalscene even smaller). I respect him loads for that, it just shows he loves the music more than the prospect of fame - like Devin. I know most people praise Dan for his days with Edge of Sanity, and some only know him for his days with Bloodbath, but the man is so much more than just death metal. If you only associate him with death metal, you're missing out on so much. The man has a most excellent clean voice, and writes great rock songs. He's among the best in metal/hard rock, both songwriting and vocalwise IMO. :guitar:

I'll second the fact that you guys who only know him for death metal should check out Nightingale and some of his other projects. The guy is a workaholic, he's been involved with more music projects than most musicians I've heard about (and most of it quite excellent).

As you can tell, I have enormous respect for this man. Him and Devin together would be absolute dynamite

On the topic of Dan Swano being a vocalist, I feel everyone ever should get to hear this little gem if they haven't:

Mikael Akerfeldts solo in the song is amazing too, damn they must have had fun making that. I warn you though, this song is pretty addicting :D If only there was more than three songs by this band...

I bet it will be - it was cool seeing that video of him tracking it. It sounded BIG.

Terria is out standing for bass, nice fretless sound which is really apparent on Down and Under when the bass first comes in. Monster slide. 8)

The bass on Nobody's Here is really kickass as well.

Dan Swano is also a hell of a producer!

A little RVP update on "Addicted"...

Have learned like 8 songs so far. Two words for you all....

HOLY FUCK!

This album is fucking sick. Be ready, "Addicted" will have so much groove, melody, heaviness and straight up "Dev" honesty to it, you won't know what to do with yourselves. Take all of Dev's heavy, catchy, groove influenced music and you have a full album called "Addicted".

Plain and simple, like I said to Dev this morning.... I'm addicted to "Addicted". I can't wait to record....

Best,

RVP

LOL!

I'll confirm that it's "Life" catchy, with a little "Regulator" catchy for heaviness and a whole new bit of catchy for you all from the man himself.... Da' Dev.

Overall - It's "Very Awesome, in a Heavy, Melodic, Catchy way!". Take that....

Best,

RVP

I've always dreamed of Dev making an album full of catchy songs like Life and Slow Me Down. Now my dream is coming true and I just jizzed in my pants.
