WHY have they not closed the airports yet? They're all silly. I wouldn't mind waiting until I'm like 30 ish with a zombie apocalypse. What are your opinions and shit? D:
It's Swine Flu, not Swine Fly. Not much use closing the airports I'd say.

Whaaaat? Why wouldn't it be much use closing the airports?? They should have done it to begin with. I like my air free of zombie virus.

Personally, I'm scared shitless. I have no money because I haven't worked properly, I was hoping to have built a shelter and stocked up on supplies by the time this happened. It genuinely feels like the end of the world. This thing is spreading like... a... pandemic.

I'm seriosuly un-phased. But I suppose my whole "There are currently four different drugs which can stop this dead in its tracks and new ones being developed" Thing makes me not care.
Oh, and I'm a teenager. Instant apathy.

I wish the best of luck to whoever is threatened by this.

This is a lesson I still have to teach myself from time to time, but...
Once you start thinking about all the things that could potentially kill you, you're not going to enjoy life anymore. Take it as it comes. It will throw shit in your face, and at that time you'll learn to deal with it. Before that, don't become obsessed. It's good to care about your health, but bad once it turns into an obsession.
-edit: if you are indeed seriously threatened/affected by this flu, then I do wish you all the best and hope things turn around for the better. I added this bit because I don't want to offend or belittle any victims.

Im not really "phased" either.
If things here were like in Mexico, then yeah, it'd be pretty scary... but nothing seems any different right now.
I don't watch the news much, so im not sure how many people have been "taken" by the virus (around here)... but i dont think its many/any at all...
But obviously theres the risk of spreading...

Right now the virus is as pandemic level 4, which means it's a pandemic alert: Person to person: Small cluster(s) with limited human-to-human transmission but spread is highly localized, suggesting that the virus is not well adapted to humans. An epidemic is possible but has not yet happened. The major deaths have been in Mexico so far, the severity of the disease is less in other countries.

Sorry to make a joke of something serious, but it seemed on topic with talks of zombies

My thoughts are with the fallen.. But seriously, I think the media is blowing this WAY out of proportions and being hysterical. Besides, as was mentioned, there are plenty of medicines.
28 years. Then it'll be funny.
I think it's all a bit blown out of proportion. Less than 200 people have died. Less than 3000 infected. Out of 6.5 billion.
Fact is the people who died died when the thing wasn't as sensational as it is now. Now the whole world has heard about it, everyone is watching, suspected carriers are being segregated from everyone else worldwide. Sure, its spread as far as Scotland and Moscow and New Zealand, but its not like we're playing Pandemic 2 and the only hope left for humanity is getting to Madagascar before they close their port.
All I'm saying is it could be a whoooooooole hell of a lot worse. At least the ebola virus or dysentery or something properly fucking awful isn't ripping through the population at a rate of millions a day.
I am of the utmost confidence that it'll bugger off and fall in line behind bird flu in the "OMG THIS WILL MAKE THE WORLD BE EMPTY NAOW!" line...

shut up and kiss me you walking infection
Yep, it's yet another media hype. I'm getting sick of it (figuratively speaking, of course).
