Hey guys, please dont get mad for asking this random question in this section...(i just figured dev and everyone else is probably looking in here more than the other sections) so it'd be a good place to ask...)
This is totally off topic but...

Hey Dev, I was wondering have you heard the "Animals As Leaders" album yet? This guy Tosin Abasi plays freakin 8 string guitars! The album is incredible!!! Its a completly instrumental album with all sorts of sometimes heavy, sometimes gentle, ambient awesomeness! I figured I'd ask, (as a fellow music lover) its always nice to hear about awesome new music out there! If you have heard it, I wonder what ya think? I ask mostly because its pretty clear throughout the album that your music probably influenced a lot of it!

(Of course this question goes for all of you on the forum too) :)

P.S. - Dev, Ki is amazing all the way through. Im obsessed with it. Im so excited to hear the rest of the 4 albums its killing me. Keep up the amazing work! Your without a doubt my favorite musician on the planet! I remember seeing you and the DTB play a short set @ the Webster Theatre in Hartford, CT on the Opeth Tour not too long ago. Watching you guys play that little tiny set was probably my favorite concert experience of all time (and ive been to a LOT of shows). As I recall, you guys played Truth, Vampolka/Vampira, Gaia, & Regulator. Amazing.

I love it all, each in it's place. If you like one over the other, at least be aware that the other stuff deserves respect, for without it, your personal favorite part wouldn't exist.

So ha.

Oh man, I can relate on that. Heavy music is great but as a song writer you need a break from it once in a while! I know I cant just sit around and write heavy stuff all day.

Hey Dev: is it just "Deconstruction" now? No mention of a cheeseburger? I'm a bit confused, I can't tell if you're just shortening it or if it's the new title.

I guess I'm a bit different than everyone else when it comes to heavy music. It's never been about negative emotions for me at all, I simply find heavy music to be exhilarating and well, fun. If anything, I'm genuinely happy when I'm writing or listening to good heavy music.

This seems strange to me. When Infinity came out, and when I have personally discussed it with you in the past (tours), You were still giddy about this album. Is that because you were getting f-ed up on tour and your brain wasn't clear? I gotta say, I have been clean 11 months, have a clear head, and Infinity is still my fave. I know it must seem different since you are the creator of the album, but damn.......it WAS honest. And that production.......damn.

It is inspiring to know that someone I admire so much is on the same path I am. I workout religiously, try to eat right (activia rules), and even quit smoking a month ago.....sometimes I can't believe it when I wake up and realize I don't need to worry about my next fix, cigarette or anything else stressful. Except work maybe. :)

Can't wait for Deconstruction. the crazier the better... crazier than something like Shitstorm would be hard to achieve.

Artists are like that, they always think/know it can somehow be better, and they're right... there's no limit to it... there's always something you can do to better it.

Sobriety... as far as that's concerned you guys can feel the same every day, while i enjoy my case of beer.

Equilibrium

That's the key to a good life.

Staying in balance... go in one way too far (excess) and you screw yourself, be it drugs, alcohol, or the opposite... being a vegan health nut. Everyone needs those outlets, but you just can't make them get the better of you... and if you completely abstain from those outlets, well... you end up a deprived crazy, boring douche.
