Menacing. I only carry a bag full of avoidant personality and pair of eyes to search a hole to hide in.

(also two mobile phones, iriver mp3 and a book to look intelligent while commuting)

rather surprised by this thread. I don't carry a blade for use as a weapon, and can't imagine many situations where I would use it as such, even in self defence. I have carried one for getting on 30 years and never once in that time used it against another person, or even threatened to.

I carry a blade for cutting rope, paunching rabbits, nocking wood, sparking a firesteel, that kind of thing. I carry a little Fenix torch as well, not for dazzling people's eyes or bashing them over the head with but for illuminating stuff when its dark.

I find it bizarre and rather depressing that everyone's assumption is that an EDC knife is primarily a weapon.

Three guitar picks, in differetn stayes of being worn down, wallet and phone. Soon I will also have a tool kit of some description. I always need something somewhere and never have what I need, to I'm making myslef a little something to carry.

Keys, phone, wallet, Archos, amongst other things. I'm also permenantly attached to an Eastpak Provider. I look like a tortoise...

On the knife thing, I live in South London. Near Brixton, where knife crime is the most popular past time. So...not for me.

I thought I was the only one who carried earplugs around religiously.

I really should start doing this. As much as I record, blaring music in high quality headphones probably isn't good for me ears. I notice that when I see live music, the volume really never offends me. :? Could be all the cigarettes and alcohol over the years too.

I didn't realise cigs and alcohol affected your ears?

I know that sounds like something really stupid to say, but I know your ears are connected to the nose and throat, so plausibly something could affect the ears with smoking.

Am I just being a 'tard?

For me, it's because I've literally never been in a situation where I felt like I needed a knife and didn't have access to one.

Carrying a knife at all times to me, would be no more useful than carrying a screwdriver or allan key around all the time. The number of times I'd be in a situation where I wished I had one on me, wouldn't justify the annoyance of carrying it around all the time.
