Alright, so now that I've listened to the damned thing enough, I think I'll finally give my lolopinion.
It's so fucking dense it's not even funny. You can't hear half the shit going on.
That said, it's pretty good. Or so I though on my first listen, after a while it starts to get on my nerves. The whole thing is like if Ziltoid raped Ki and this is the abominable end result.
Praise the Lowered is a great build-up, really digging Dev's screaming vocals. Half the time I forget Kuhr is even in the song, which I find somewhat hilarious. The trip-hop intro sounds like it came from Metroid Prime or something.
Stand. Oh my god Stand. This is the greatest thing ever holy shit. For me, this is the heaviest song on the whole record. The (unexpected) guitar solo is fucking ballin', too.
Juular is kinda annoying, I really don't like the exessive chugging.
Speaking of annoying, I fucking hate that stupid techmetalcorebreakdownshit-riffing at 2:38 in Sumeria. Duplantier's vocals feel REALLY out of place and sound silly.
Not much to say about Planet of the Apes, other than it is awesome and can we have more please.
The intro of MM gives me odd Iron Maiden vibes. And I'll be damned if the "give it up, your world" part isn't the catchiest thing ever. Puciato screaming SSSAAAAATAAAAAANN gives me chills every time.
At first I hated Deconstrucion, but I've warmed up to it and I see it's place on the record. Loving the subtle KANPAI!.
Juular, Sumeria and Pandemic feel unnecessary and they break the flow of the album. They work better when listened to separately.
The whole thing reminds me of Waltari's Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! A Death Metal Symphony In Deep C, which also has an orchestra AND electronic elements. Though not as crazy and technical (which is a good thing).
tl;dr Many of the shorter songs have potential but ultimately fall flat, too technical for it's own good, gave us a new Devy classic (Stand)
All in all, an okay record. Not his best nor his worst.
I think I'll go listen to Accelerated Evolution for the millionth time to make me feel clean of this album.
