Hi! My Name is Ile and i'm a ax-a-holic. Found Dev's music few years ago, there's no return ever since.. I live in northern Finland, near city of Oulu, where i had the opportunity seein' DTP live last spring. As a devoted guitarwanker for over 25 years seeing and hearing true talents is always inspiring, and also frustrating in many ways. Devin is a true visionary in his work. My deepest respect \,,/

I have been listened to Devin's music over ten years, it was only one of the favorite music a lot. But I suddenly become deeply absorbed in his music Recently. Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction, Ghost, DTP's albums are top of pieces in Devin's works so far!

Sadly, I've never seen Devin's live show even once… then, I'll go to his show at London November! I can't wait \m/

Hi! Another guy from Finland.
I first heard Devin's music some years ago, when our music teacher show us Ziltoidia attaxx. I started listen to Dev's music 1,5 years ago and I saw Ziltoid show in Tuska. The true eargasm moment was in last winter, when Addicted truely opened. Pure euphory 5 days.

I'm not great at introducing myself. I'm Norwegian. And... I was introduced to Devin's music a while ago, by Faffy on the forum here. I'm not sure how long it's been, but I've got to say that seeing him live earlier this year made me like him even more.

I'm happy to be here. My brother gave me a download of Deconstruction + Ghost for a present. I just got it loaded up, lets see if it makes me jog faster.

I'm live in VT, USA. I've been to BC a couple of times. I play all kinds of music. My brother was excited, he thinks Deconstruction + Ghost will be a big inspiration for me.

After jog: I'm blown away. He sounds like he knows my memories. The orchestration (I mean drums and guitar too) is so awesome. This must have been an intense mixing job. The effects and programed sequencing is precise and demonstartes mastery. Yes I ran faster and extended my jog.

i'm really bad at keeping up on forums that i join or even remembering i joined them in the first place, but hopefully i'll do better here.

i live in portland oregon and spend most of my time riding my bike, listening to and making music, drinking my friend's homebrew, wrangling friends with cars into taking me to the beach and generally trying to make the most of what i have to work with.
apart from dev related tunes, i'm mostly into 90's noise rock and prog metal and post rock.
swans, cop shoot cop, foetus, faith no more, mr. bungle, isis and related projects, the god machine, godflesh/anything justin broadrick comes within 100 yards of, ministry, porcupine tree, marillion, peter gabriel, neurosis, alice in chains, skinny puppy, oingo boingo, einsturzende neubauten, catherine wheel, big black, the jesus lizard, the angelic process, popol vuh, melvins, helmet...

i've got this "problem" where i've been unable to listen to anything but ocean machine for the last 3 months.

i saw DTP open for children of bodom on this last tour. it was fantastic, but really strange being the only person within a 20 foot radius who gave a shit about what was happening because i had to work before the show and wasn't able to camp out all day like the other 10 people who were there for him. at any rate, i ended up way off to the side in the front row and i was talking shit on the top 40 metal they were playing before the show started with the teenage dudes next to me who just assumed i was there for COB, who i really don't care about one way or the other. they had no idea who this devin townsend guy was and once he came on, they watched his whole set with "not sure if want..." expressions on their faces. i got to talk to devin for like 20 seconds and got a hug after the show. i wanted to fangirl about cop shoot cop and grotus with him, but there were too many other people trying to talk to him so i just split.
i'm really looking forward to the headlining show coming up in october. maybe we'll get a wider variety of material. i'm also looking forward to being surrounded by other fans this time around because as much as i hate to admit it, the concert experience is really intensified by the solidarity of the fans.

yeah, i'm not really surprised. they're probably the most obscure band i listen to. i'd be interested to find more projects like it because sometimes their crappy production is just too much and i can't take it. nadja are quite similar, but they're one of those bands that has 15-30 minute songs. what i like about the angelic process is that they're they're the concentrated soup of drone metal. songs are shorter, but way WAY more epic.

DTP as opening act for children of bodom on this last tour...Now i'm gonna get loud..IT SHOULD BE OTHERWISE!..even that i am a finnish, i don't quite understand that Dev's the opening act for COB. Shurely Alexi and Roope with rest of the band are great musicians, but DTP as warm-up? Nope!

it made sense business-wise i think. maybe they wanted to see if there was enough interest to do a headlining tour, turns out there is!
it really is weird though... COB are too generic as it is, then to follow DTP... well.. yeah. i didn't stay for their set.
