First impression: this thing stinks!

I mean, it just smells really bad. Like a damp cellar or wet woolen socks. :D

Must be the ink they used or something..

Xithyl,
I’m located in North Wales and I have not received any delivery notice either from Insideout. I requested an update yesterday morning and in the response I was told I would definitely receive the box set within a week. Hopefully this is a worst case scenario.
Cheers

Thanks for the info Jon, I emailed them this morning but have yet to recieve a reply and due to the site being down I was starting to get a bit worried. A week doesn't sound too bad though, but hopefully we won't have to wait that long.

I sended them a email yesterday and got this

"all orders containing the Devin Townsend Boxes are being packed and shipped right now. Please note that we cannot guarantee a determined shipping to the release date, since it is quite a huge number of orders we have to take care of and during Christmas time all deliverers are very busy, too. "

Thanks ramionparas, looks like everything's ok then and I should expect it next week, would have been nice if they had sent an email saying it had been shipped though.

According to UPS, mine should be here by tomorrow. Yes, my package is in the state that I live, but I live in TN... east TN... way east... I could be in North Carolina in 10 minutes... and my package is in Memphis... which is in West TN... way west... and TN is a super long state... and that's my situation at the moment. :coucou:

I made a very quick comparision between some Decon-tracks with headphones. Maybe the deepest bass-tones are a bit more present in the remaster, but i'm not sure yet. Have to check with speakers again (but not at night...). With headphones the difference seems to be very small, i'm not sure i even hear a difference.

I checked again with speakers (very quick as well, so i may be wrong) and i have to take this back.

The Dev wrote:A bit less of the low low stuff, a db and a half more in the low mids, a touch less at around 3.5

Chances are , you won't hear a difference. Same with Ghost. small changes for my benefit because the car I used to check mixes...the lease was up and I had to get rid of it, and my new cars stereo sucks, so I hadn't the same perspective.

anyways...

Like Dev said, i recognize now (with speakers) that some of the deep bass has been slightly reduced. For example in Juular i had an almost constant "humming" underlaying bass sound. This has been reduced in the remaster. I also hear a little difference in the beginning of The Mighty Masturbator, the clear voice seems to be a bit more "focused" in the middle of the stereo-stage, the violins around the "sleep well" part are a little more focused, too. Both effects seem to lead to a more "balanced" and a bit more clear and focused sound. So i think the remaster of Decon sounds a bit better than the original. But the differences are small and maybe i'm wrong again. Does anybody share my opinion?

Didn't check Ghost yet.

Soaking in all of the bonus tracks right now. Juno is simply amazing. Ho Krll remastered sounds awesome - much less bass. Traestorz is 19 minutes long...A bit of dubstep towards the end of it. Couldn't be happier with this package :D

I fucking adore Juno. Super poppy, but in the way I expected more from Addicted than we got for the most part. (I still love Addicted)
