So in what year (Gregorian Calendar) did you start listening to solo Devin Townsend (including Punky Bruster and the DTB)? Who are the veterans and who are the newbies? :) Could be interesting to see any correlation between people discovering Devin and events like SYL-breakup or the DTP, maybe.

For me it's 2007 (October 1st!). Can't believe it's already over four years ago!

Strapping Young Lad since 24 July 2005. Started with Love?.

Solo since 6 March 2006. Started with Random Analysis. Before that I was hugely captivated Ayreon's "The Human Equation" which eventually led me to his solo career.

Got the exact dates from my last.fm library. :)

Love? was the first one, so 2005. Missed seeing SYL with Arch Enemy though, but caught them at Download! You can see me as a fuzzy sun-burnt purple blob on the DVD at the front 8)

Would have been around Sept/Oct. 1995.
My mate was a huge Vai fan, and played S&R for me and asked me what I thought of the guy singin'.

Then he put on HAARHT...a kid's voice started yabberin', I thought: "WTF?"...then the hammerblows commenced.

And the World was remade before me. :D :amen:

Stumbled upon Dev's music in august 2007, through last.fm. Got into it instantly. 4.5 years... not baaad.

Been into The Human Equation by Ayreon since 2004-2005 though, where all of my favourite parts were sang by Dev. Never bothered to check out his music though. Now that's just silly. :P
