So I was flicking channels last night and saw that the Aussie version of The Voice had premiered. What the hell I thought, I'll watch a few minutes before I get my stuff organised for work.

And then this girl walks out and BLOWS MY FREAKING MIND with her voice. Bricks were shat.

She's just 19, left school at 12 and has had a pretty tough childhood from what I could gather. These shows so often completely overstate the amount of "talent" on offer, but god damn it this girl sounds like Renee Geyer and Janis Joplin spliced their DNA to create a super baby that's been chewing glass and knocking back whiskey for a lifetime.

I saw that chick on The Voice while I was making dinner, I did not expect that kind of voice from her haha. I thoroughly enjoy the fact that anyone can have lots of money and pay to have their kids classically trained on an instrument and get really good, but that kind of talent is free and present in every social class.

I don't feel any connection to English or Swedish because I can only think in Finnish and therefore foreigin language is just words. It would be interesting to live in another country just to see how long it takes to completely think in that language and not in Finnish anymore.
