Yes. About one inch.

Yes. It was deciding between a 7 or 6 string, but I chose the AB-3000 Baritone w/ Duncans.

You know, you're seriously one of the only people I know of who has a constant fascination with string tension. Take Misha from Periphery for example, he prefers light strings on his standard (25.5'') 7 strings, and tunes down a half step, then the Bb to Ab. I do the same thing sometimes, but mostly just standard B dropped to A...though I use 10-59 on my 7.

Plus I prefer my strings to have a little bit of slack, makes bending easier on the fingers.

Also, why would you get a 28'' scale unless you're getting an 8 string? Do you have frying pans for hands?

Recently read a book called God Is Dead by Ron Currie, Jr.
Tells of a world where God existed, took the form of a woman in Sudan, and was killed when a violent militia attacks a refugee camp.
The world then descends into chaos, people worship their own children, and atheistic sects go to war.
A very dark, poignant, and funny book - I recommend it.

I'm not really interested in 8-strings as I'm not much of a fiddly diddler. I was considering a 7-string but I decided not to. The reason I want 28" is so it can hold intonation if I go reeeaally low. However I haven't ordered anything yet, I'm going to try out the bass of a friend of mine just so I can get the idea of the scale length, if I can't handle it I guess I'll look at something else.

Shouldn't you just buy a bass instead? I'm told they go really really low. ;)

My neck is still killing me from a death metal gig two nights ago, yesterday at work it was even worse, my back was killing me and I was sick as a dog....we never get bands like that up here though even if they're only small time, so it was still so worth it.

I'm still going on about the katatonia gig from over a week ago. I don't even like them that much, but I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the best shows I've been to in ages. Which will be surpassed on the 12th :)

A baritone 7 or even an 8 string would do just as well, and give you full range. Especially if you want to go super low, Morten, an 8 string would suit that better than anything.
