Am I the only one currently thinking Ghost >>>>> Deconstruction?
Admittedly, I'm not an overboard fan of the incredibly heavy stuff. I'm 100% into most of Devy's heavy stuff (bar a lot of Physicist and a lot of SYL, sadly), and I'm more in it for the solo stuff like Terria, Synchestra, and Ocean Machine. They're just perfectly pitched. Of course I love Devin's vocals, especially the heavy ones, but SYL was always too intense and too constant for me.
Also, I'm a big fan of The Hummer (and other ambient musicians), Ki, and all Devin's mellow stuff. Deep Peace and Nobody's Here are big favorites, as well as In-Ah! and Funeral/Dynamics (whilst not acoustic, they have that atmosphere). Ki had that kinda style on a few tracks but there was also the whole blusey/jazzy style like Ain't Never Gonna Win... which was in there, which was cool but I think I'll prefer Ghost from the sound of it. Listening to interviews where Devin describes the sitting-on-the-beach-just-with-an-acoustic kinda thing... it sounds brilliant. I'd love an atmospheric Ki-Hummer hybrid. I don't know if it's exactly that, but whatever it is, I hope it's cooking nicely.
But I'm prepared to be proved wrong. Thoughts?
